MEDICAL ASSISTANT PROGRAM & TEST PREPARATION

Our Medical Assistant Program is designed to provide the students with clinical and administrative skills that will enable them to perform both front and back-office procedures in medical offices, hospitals, emergency centers, medical spas, medical clinics.

Through our medical assistant classes and certification programs, you’ll gain essential knowledge in important administrative areas including:

  • Medical Billing and Coding.
  • Electronic Health Records.
  • Rooming patients, administering vital signs, gathering current health information.
  • Appointment scheduling.
  • Completing insurance forms.
  • Electronic health records completion.

Our students will also receive both classroom and hands-on training to learn invaluable clinical skills such as:

  • Preparing an examination room.
  • Assisting the physician with general examinations.
  • Performing basic procedures (injections, capillary punctures, and venipunctures)
  • Performing and evaluating routine laboratory tests.

OUR PROGRAMS

Medical Assistant

Our Medical Assitant Program prepares students to perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by a physician.

Dental Assistant

Dental assisting is among the top 25 fastest-growing occupations in the United States. As a dental assistant, you will not only enjoy increased opportunities in a growing field, you will also enhance the efficiency of a dental care team.

Medical Coding and Billing

Provide medical billing and coding services to physician’s offices and medical specialty practices for health care providers to be paid for services rendered. Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and prepare and send statements to patients. Must be knowledgeable and possess skills in the areas of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, diagnostic and procedural coding, insurance claims processing, and medical billing procedures.

Sterile process Technician

IAHCSMM offers the Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification, which is designed to recognize individuals who have demonstrated the experience, knowledge and skills necessary to provide competent services as a Central Service Technician.

Phlebotomy Technician

Phlebotomy technicians are healthcare professionals responsible for obtaining patient specimens. They can perform various functions such as venipuncture, micro-collection, and specimen processing and handling while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.

EKG Technician

ECG Technicians are allied health professionals responsible for performing diagnostic tests to assess the patient’s heart rhythm and rate. They ensure proper electrode placement on the patient, record the ECG, prepare the report for the physician, ensure patient comfort and safety, and troubleshoot abnormalities with the recording.

Pharmacy Technician

Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. May measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders.

Surgical Assistant

Surgical Assisting involves the active participation of a trained individual who is capable and able to assist the surgeon in completing a surgical procedure, safely and expeditiously.
